Relationships between Leo and Virgo

When the luminaries and Ascendants in their birth charts are harmonious, Leo and Virgo of either sex can walk hand in hand, smiling at each other and picking flowers, as happy and hopeful as it is possible for us mortals to be.

However, before we follow these lucky ones to the Emerald City, we must stop and extend a hand to those Leo-Virgo couples who have stumbled over a stray stone and need our help.

No doubt there are a few rare Leos and Virgos whose relationship quickly turns sadomasochistic.

And don't think that in these rare situations Leo is always a mean sadist, and Virgo is a helpless little masochist.

Whether these two are friends, relatives, business partners, lovers or spouses, it can be either way.

Let's look at the situation from both sides.

Let's take the "big cat" first.

Sadism is a perverted form of behavior that occurs when individuals are emotionally tied into an unthinkable knot of internal complexes of embarrassment and fear.

Then grief and suffering accompany love.

Usually good-natured and gentle, Leos and Lionesses can, on occasion, act like true sadists, only thanks to their tendency to expect and demand that others recognize their superiority.

If these "others" were born under the Sun sign of Virgo, then the temptation of the "big cat" to rule undividedly is quite understandable, because it seems that Virgo submits so calmly and so readily.

But only at first glance.

Just as Leo cannot be accused of innate sadism, so Virgo cannot be accused of innate masochism.

It only seems so.

True, these people behave in such a way that, looking at their unobtrusive manners, soft polite speech (when.they are not grumbling) and emphasized modesty, sometimes one can think of masochism.

Since Leos often aspire to lead, and, in addition, are quite arrogant, sometimes it seems that the more introverted Virgos enjoy running back and forth and serving the King or Queen.

At first glance.

After a while, most likely, the astonished Leo will discover that the patience of the obliging and submissive representative of the sign of Virgo still has limits, upon reaching which the quiet and patient sufferer becomes unexpectedly talkative.

Out of the blue, he (she) will list Leo's vices and shortcomings with painful precision, and then calmly (and still kindly) leave the royal castle with irritating aplomb and firmness (as you know, Virgo is an Earth sign) and refuse to have any further dealings with his former Master.

Then we get the opposite picture: the unfortunate Leo or Lioness (invariably from the breed of Shy Cats) will for a long time become a masochistic victim of the refined sadistic treatment of the cold earthly Virgo, who will continuously (even if extremely politely) pull out hairs from the lion's mane until she deprives her victim of this symbol of royal greatness.

She will constantly belittle and scold every achievement or effort of the Cat, endlessly describe how impractical and full of holes, like a piece of Swiss cheese, the Lion's dreams are, calling every gesture and word of the Leo overly theatrical...

After a while, the Leo, devoid of dignity, pride and self-confidence, will wander lostly around the house or the classroom, the office or the playground, like the cowardly Lion of Oz, nervously tugging at his tail, which he will keep under his arm just in case, and shedding waterfalls of tears, desperately trying to find courage.

There is no more pitiful sight than a proud King (Queen) turned into a quivering mass of masochistic jelly.

Although this is an extreme case, it can happen.

However, most likely, Leo will turn into a giant monstrous Cat, which will growl, then let out a deafening roar and pounce on the unsuspecting Virgo, like a cat pounces on a mouse.

Then he will magnanimously allow the frightened Virgo to run away.

And, finally, he will slam the door, never to return.

It's all sad.

Now that we have warned them and, hopefully, taught them something, we can move on to the sunny side of the Leo-Virgo relationship.

And it certainly exists.

The "Big Cat" and the Virgo of any gender, having overcome their differences and created the conditions for a peaceful life together, will find joy in it - Leo will finally find a gentle and devoted comrade who sincerely admires the golden virtues of Leo, an intelligent subject, whom he, in turn, will defend.

Virgo will find someone who is truly worthy of respect (and Virgo's demands are high), a warm and generous friend, wise, loving and strong enough to rely on in difficult times, but at the same time sensitive enough to need Virgo's constant care and attention (awareness of one's own need will support Virgo's lonely spirit).

If Leo instills in Virgo that he will not allow himself to be constantly criticized and found fault with, if Virgo can explain to Leo that he is not going to become a slave to his arrogant demands and whims, a warm and reverent relationship can be established between them, and this is already magic.

And it is also magic because Virgo astrologically belongs to the so-called "human" Solar signs, and she is symbolized by the Virgin gathering the harvest, and Leo belongs to the "animal" Solar signs, and he is symbolized by the fearless king of the jungle.

Symbolically or literally, it is always difficult for man and animal to communicate in real terms, but when they do, they are reminded of either Eden or the forests where Saint Francis of Assisi walked so joyfully, accompanied by the animals who trusted him.

As much as Leos can be theatrical, expansive and unrestrained, they can also be capable and balanced organizers.

When their pride and vanity do not interfere.

Leos have an amazing supply of common sense.

Practical Virgo secretly admires this, but she will have to tell Leo about it more often.

In turn, Leo approves of Virgo's efforts to do everything she is capable of, and is even flattered by this, but rarely expresses his sincere gratitude to Virgo for her prudence and reliability, although he relies on her more often than on most other people - and is not disappointed.
