The village is located on the Her River, at the confluence of the Veselaya River. Yekaterininsky kuren (village Yekaterinovskaya since 1841, village Krylovskaya since 1961) is a settlement founded at the very end of the 18th century in 1794[2], when these territories were actively settled by Zaporozhye Cossacks.
