Anamur (tur. Anamur, Armenian Անամուր) is a city and district in the province of Mersin on the Mediterranean coast in southern Turkey, between the cities of Alanya and Mersin.
Anamur is a fairly large city surrounded by mountains. The road leading here and further east is a tangled serpentine. There are many huge greenhouses and plantations with banana "palms" around the city.
In 3-2 thousand BC. the Hurrian state of Kizzuwatna existed here. The first mention of it by Assyrian authors dates back to the 7th century BC. BC e., when the city was under the rule of the Assyrians.
