VENTSPILS (Ventspils) (until 1917 the official name of Ventspils) - a town in Latvia, a port on the Baltic Sea. Regular ferry service to Nynashamn in Sweden. Known since 1242. In the 14-16 centuries, was a member of the Hanseatic League.
