City Anzhero-located in the Kuznetsk Basin, 115 km north of Kemerovo. Settlement on the site of the modern Anzhero-emerged in 1896-97 in connection with the construction of the railway and the beginning of coal mining. Anzherka village was named for its location on the river Angers; name of the village Sudzhenka moved people from the Kursk province, where there is a river and the city Suggia.
