Serpukhov is located in the southern part of the Moscow region. The city and the adjacent area is on the border of three physiographic provinces. North District, located on the left bank of the Oka refers to the Moskva-Oka plain that the north-west slopes of the passes in the Smolensk-Moscow Hills, in the north-east - in the suburban Meshchora and to the south is limited to the valley of the Oka.
