Mush (tur. Muş) is a silt in eastern Turkey.
Il Mush borders on the silts: Bingol, Erzurum, Agri, Bitlis, Batman, Diyarbakir. Belongs to the Murat river basin. The highest peak is Akdogan Gölü (2149 m).
According to Armenian tradition, the name Mush comes from the Armenian word "Mshush", which means "fog" or "haze". In the Armenian tradition, the pagan goddess Astghik had a habit of descending from Mount Grgur in the evenings and bathing in the river. Local daredevils, having learned about this, began to make fires on the hills to see its beauty. Having guessed this, Astghik began to let in impenetrable darkness. Therefore, the city and the entire region, where fogs are a frequent occurrence, began to be called Mshush, which, passing from mouth to mouth, transformed into Mush.
