Mardin is a silt in southern Turkey on the border with Syria.
The name Mardin comes from the Syrian "merde" - a fortress.
The silt borders in the west with the silt of Sanliurfa, in the north with the silts of Diyarbakir and Batman, and in the east with the silts of Shirnak and Siirt.
